Collector's Notes

  • The one known example of YN0.5 was attributed to lodge 71 in a large national collection of OA neckerchiefs from the 1940s and 1950s. However, there is no prima facie nor confirmatory evidence that it was an official issue of lodge 71. Therefore, it is cataloged here as a "YN". The crude construction suggests that very few of these neckerchiefs were made.
  • N1 is believed to have been made for the lodge contingent attending the 1957 area 2C conference. Only a handful of  known examples.
  • P1 was originally restricted to Brotherhood members, but later this restriction was changed to 1/life for all lodge members.
  • There was at least one R2 patch issued on a standard issue BSA red neckerchief.
